The organisers (initiators) of the "Year of castles" which has been announced are planning to hold a string of events aimed at raising money for the restoration and reconstruction of ancient buildings, some of which are truly unique (among which there are some truly unique ones).
Additionally (apart from this), the organisers wish to draw the attention of society, the state and donors not only to the problems of the financing of historical and cultural monuments but also to several others:
for example (let's say), to the fact that Ukraine still does not have (in Ukraine there still does not exist) a single body with responsibility (which would be reponsible) for the preservation of castles.
Among the proposals which will be considered and discussed there is one which is controversial (equivocal):
to put the castles in private hands and convert them into residences or hotels, as is done in Europe.
At the same time requiring the owners to retain the authentic appearance of the relevant (this or that) building.
Will all those who wish it then have access to the restored castle?
Will tours be possible of such monuments which have been converted into private residences?..
