Standard
Ukrainian vehicle number plates contain only those letters which are of the
same form as letters in the English alphabet, so as to make them
internationally recognisable, as in the example on the right (the small
Roman letters UA on the left of the plate constitute the international
country identification code for Ukraine).
The following are examples of initial letter combinations designating administrative areas:
AA - Kyiv city
AB - Vinnytsia Region
AK - Crimean Autonomous Republic
BH - Odesa Region
BC - Lviv Region
AE - Dnipropetrovsk Region
BM - Sumy Region
BO - Ternopil Region
AP - Zaporizhia Region
BT - Kherson Region
AX - Kharkiv Region
